About These Terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of this website and to electrical services provided by Macdonald Edinburgh Electrical Limited, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC477869), registered address 4 Mauricewood Grove, Penicuik, Midlothian, EH26 0BN. By using this website you accept these terms. We may update them from time to time, and continued use of the site means you accept any changes.
Quotations and Pricing
Quotations are provided free of charge and are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. A quotation is based on the information available at the time and the work described. If the scope of work changes, or if additional work is required once we begin — for example previously concealed faults — we will discuss this with you and agree any revised price before continuing. Prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable.
Our Work and Standards
All electrical work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (the IET Wiring Regulations) and our NICEIC Approved Contractor obligations. Where notifiable work is undertaken, the appropriate certification and, where required, building standards notification will be provided. We will carry out the work with reasonable skill and care and leave your property clean and tidy.
Appointments and Access
We will agree appointment times with you in advance and aim to arrive within the agreed window. You are responsible for providing safe and reasonable access to the areas where work is to be carried out. If we are unable to gain access at a pre-arranged time, or an appointment is cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable call-out fee.
Payment
Payment is due on completion of the work unless other terms have been agreed in writing. For larger projects we may request a deposit or stage payments, which will be set out in your quotation. We accept the payment methods stated on your invoice. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue accounts in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts legislation.
Guarantees and Insurance
Our workmanship is guaranteed and all installations are certified. Manufacturer warranties apply to supplied materials and equipment. We hold public liability insurance of £5 million. Our liability for any claim is limited to the cost of putting right the affected work, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos and images, is the property of Macdonald Edinburgh Electrical Limited or its suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce or redistribute any content without our written permission.
Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the law of Scotland, and any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts. If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
